So another celebrity princess walks along in a mall (or is it an airport concourse?) and some security nutjobs who think they’re her minders have to clear a swath in order for her to breathe and not mix with the paparazzi and the hoi polloi. Gawd, what is the world coming to…:P

2nd, this all goes back to ppl taking there job too seriuosly like the tazer guys from a few months back.

If that guy who got taken down 2nd was doing something wrong i could accept this (ie, provokin violence).. but to me this just shows how power mad the ppl in the US are.

Those guys may have gotten a reprimand, but licensed security guards in the US do have the right to use force.

I’m not saying they won’t get sued.  But definitely they won’t get arrested.

If you say they should expect it for their popularity to be in the public eye, when that exactly means being henpecked by these scavenging photographers in the most mundane and otherwise uneventful moments of your life, you only propagate this fucked up circle.

@hornet1973 - ditto that.  And that mall was Century City Shopping Center in California. And the mall has a lot of little punks (spoiled kids) running amok.  I’m not surprised the security team…and for those who want to bash on the mall…it’s WESTFIELD.  I believe that’s a British company, yes?

yeah hornet, i mean jessica simpson never asked for people to take pictures of her walking down a street, it must suck having to get your people to tip off the paps that you are going to go shopping or vacationing and getting complete rights on the pictures they take to sell to the highest bidder.

oh the pain of having to see if you are in the papers and magazines everyday because you know it hurts when you are not.

there is not one attention seeking whore (male or female) who didn’t know what they were getting themselves into.

however, there are some old skool class acts that you never see with this kind of exposure, why? because they do actually value there privacy and have confidence in their own “celebrity” status!

First off in a way I agree with Hornet, but the problem with that is she is a movie star (or whatever you call her) and that being a movie star calls for advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantages are she gets paid a lot of money for something that anyone could do and gets a lot of shit for free. A disadvantage is that this type of shit occurs where people wanna take pictures of you. Im also pretty sure that those people dont like being such shit holes, but they do it to get paid because magazines that show movie stars pay for it (remember its all about the money). That said that isn’t Century City Mall in California, it’s Topanga Mall in California (Southern California in a town called Canoga). It was recently remodeled with a lot of new fancy-dancy stores so its a big deal to go there.
