Critique of Criminal Reason by Michael Gregorio

From Amazon (as I’m too lazy to write my own synopsis):

This is an electrifying historical thriller - a journey into the dark streets of Prussia where a deadly serial killer has a city at his mercy. It’s the beginning of the eighteenth century, and Prussian magistrate Hanno Stiffeniis has been called to investigate a spate of murders which has reduced Konigsberg to a state of terror. Four people have died, and there is no sign of an end to the killing spree. When the killer tries to murder him, the magistrate finds himself confronted by the demons of his own past. Therein lies the sinister source of those murders, and the true reason he has been enticed back to Konigsberg…

It’s nothing deep or intellectual, but it’s a nice easy read and I’m quite enjoying it - so much so, that I’ve already bought the second book in the series.

What about you lot?

The Gunslinger
The Drawing of the Three
The Wastelands
Wizard and Glass
Wolves of the Calla
Song of Susannah
The Dark Tower

Also known as The Dark Tower books by Stephen King

As a cocky 19 year old Stepehn King wanted to make his mark on the world, with and epic story to rival The Lord of the Rings. King put pen to paper and set about writing about a Gunslinger who was tracking a man in black across the desert. Losing his way King tossed it aside and began working on other projects Carrie, Salem’s Lot etc..

No matter how much he wrote and how many worlds, dimensions, times he incorporated; every stroke of the pen led back to one man The Gunslinger.

It’s taken me the best part of a year to read. It’s terrifying, devastating, fantastic, genuinely shocking, utterly confusing and quite simply the best thing I have ever read. It has had me afraid to carry on reading and in streams of tears in public. The series takes twists and turns and if you’ve read any Stephen King book, you will find a reference to IT here (pun intended).

I cannot recommend this highly enough. New King readers should read any other book 1st and then dive in. If you’re like me though, an established King reader, you’re not really into Westerns and don’t think you’d like any other style King might do, put that out your mind. It’s fucking awesome.

Still not convinced? I’m such a huge mark for it, I’ll start a book chain and send someone the 1st book just to get you hooked.

Neil Gaiman’s out with a new book, The Graveyard Book. Rather aimed at a not-so-old audience (probably atthose who read Coraline when it came out, or something), it still should be a good read.

Nice thing is he’s touring around reading chapters of it, and we can see the vids of these readings for free. At the end, he’ll have read the whole thing.

Here are the first few, the others will come along:

Tupac Shakur Legacy

Tupac Shakur Legacy is an official interactive biography of Tupac Shakur released on August 16, 2006. The author of the book is Jamal Joseph, a friend of the Shakur family and a former Black Panther Party member. The book is published by Atria Books a division of Simon & Schuster. It features unseen family photographs, intimate stories, and over 20 removable reproductions of his handwritten song lyrics, contracts, scripts, poetry, and other personal papers. It is dubbed as a portable museum and is retailing for $45, although it has been sold on clearance at Borders for $5.

The book includes a 60 minute interview CD with Tupac along with many reproductions. The reproductions include replicas of Tupac’s personal notebooks, letters and written plans, along with directions to where Tupac’s ashes were said to be spread.

Thought i’d get it after i got a quick look at it at one of my mates house. Its pretty dope, got heaps of extra pullout handwritten notes from him and the vidoe is pretty sick. Check it out if you’ve heard of him, i recommend it. Heres a review of the biography from a reader who doesn’t listen to his music.

So stoked Peace.
