Actually, I just look at the pictures. I reserve my in-depth reading time for The Economist and Viz.

I opened newspapers yesterday. I couldn`t find a scroll bar, so I gave up reading.

I know what you mean. My needs as a reader are being ignored by newspapers, which appear to have no easy click-throughs to free pornography or videos of grossly overweight people injuring themselves in amusing ways. And they call themselves the bastion of serious journalism…

You`re trivializing it now.
I can gather more useful informations from the internet published media and by reading various points of view form my opinion. In order to do that with newspapers, one should have a pile of them each morning. And that`s a lot of trees.

And not enough boobies. Who’s trivialising it? ;D Actually, I’m with you in preferring online news; read one paper and you only get one view from one culture. Read online and the world is your lobster.

I was bored one day, and did a little analysis of average newspapers in my local pub. Here is the rough result:
Adds: 20%
Sport: 30%
Horoscope, crosswords, Sudoku, kakuro, hentai and other puzzles: 15%
Black chronic, obituaries: 15%
TV guide: 10%
News, columns, and stuff you actually bought your papers for: 10%
Is it worth it (and I`m not talking about money)

So that’s 10% of the paper I’d actually want to be paying for. OK 10.1% if you count the crossword. That’s why I’ve given up buying the Sunday papers when there’s a brick of sections the size of a doorstop stuffed full of sports, finance, kids’ stuff, gardening and all the other crap that I don’t want to know about. That’s a lot of dead tree. Why hasn’t anybody seen the gap in the market for replacing all of these sections with porn? And lots of it. TTe one day of the week you spend mostly in bed with your missus and the papers and they don’t give you what you both really want to read.

And she probably should avoid the local canine/feline population in a big way.
