The Forum pages just started jumping up and down completely unaided!

My mouse is untouched!

I am not on drugs or alcohol. I am Eating Pringles and Mingles (Just noticed how stupid that mix is!)

Page kept trying to jump on 1 item to download....

Any Ideas?

Run all the usual Spyware / Anti-Virus checks…

If that don’t work just roll your PC back to before it happened.

If it still does it...Try Firefox...It doesn’t hurt to have both browsers on your PC.

Also goto http://www.pcpitstop.com and run the tests there. If it’s your first visit to pitstop you will have to download a small applet. The site is well safe and i have been using it for about 8 years to check my PC over.

Next time it happens, try and see if their is any strange internet communication going on..

It only did it for about 3-4 minutes. It was just “odd”

Run all the gubbins so regularly as to be obsessive.

At the bottom of the browser (IE) it kept going between 1 item to download and some weird .jump garbage

Suspect somebody may have been trying to hit the page?

PS. What are everybody elses late night TC snacks. Only realised how bizarre (and at the same time poetic) mine were after typing it out. Alliteration not a consideration.

On the jumping issue, I’ve had a bunch of wierd action from my mouse when it had the option to jump to the default key/tab or whatever enabled.  Doesn’t really sound like your issue, but if you did get a new cat toy it might be worth checking.

As for snackables....coffee and carrots, tea (cold, no sugar) and cucumbers, Dr. Thunder (cheap about 1/3 price copy of Dr. Pepper offered up by USA’s #1 retailer) and any sugary snack cake we have about, water and my meds (still recovering from knee surgery).

My trackball does that from time to time too.  Have you tried popping the ball out and cleaning the pickups?  I’ve got several Microsoft trackballs, the one you move with your thumb and a few wireless laser mice.  Only problem I’ve been having with the laser mouse is the sensor gets dust in it once in a while and I have to hit it with a short burst of air to get it tracking again.

Yes, i clean it regularly...but i have a sneaking suspicion that little bits of dirt are falling down, across the lense…

Have you visited any websites in the last day or so that you haven’t been to before?  I had a problem similar to this back in December this past year, and come to find out it was a damn virus.  I hope that’s not the case for you.
