Indeed. My dad died in 94 - I used to work with him for 12 hours most days so it was an awful shock. I still ocassionally dream about being at work with him then when I wake up get a real pang of disappointment :(

I still dream about my dad in totally normal situations…

I dream about me and him just sitting there watching the TV…or mending my car…

Totally normal shit…and it feels normal…even tho’ in my dream i know he is dead…but me and him are doing the usual stuff…

I had a dream where he was giving me a right ol’ bollockin’ for not giving my son enough fruit…and i was explaining to him that i did…But it felt ‘right’...

I dunno…

The sub-conscious is a powerful thing…

I live in a different country to my dad.  Hes a good bloke, we get on well, we just never have anything to say to each other.

I get on well with my Dad.

We are interested in similar things, like motorbikes. We go Touring together. I love it, & so does he.

We got a 2000km trip planned for later on this year down south through the forest of Pemberton, I cant wait!

Thats one of the things we do together that I can look back on in 20 years time & be happy that I did that with my Dad.

Im only 25 & He’s 57. So hopefully he’ll be around for a LONG time yet.

I also get along really well with my dad even though ive been living in the UK for the last 3 years and he lives in South Africa, so i only see him once a year. Sadly though my twin brother had a fall out with my parents more so my dad than my mom and now they arent on speaking terms, its complicated and ive tried many times to get them talking again. I just know that one day when our dad passes away he’ll regret being so stubborn and not making amends with him.

We have some friends from SA, but they dont have that accent Im thinking of, they sound more posh english.

Yup got the South African accent but not as bad as the LW2 more like the blood diamond…

Its the office joke to walk around saying “Diplomatic immunity” from LW2…
