First off, this toy cat would still hold evidence even if it had been washed. Most forensic scientists know that DNA is especially hard to remove from anything textile based due the fibrous structure of the material. Therefore if the toy was involved somehow, there would still be DNA, presuming that is what they are looking for, on the toy. Secondly, I heard some rumour that blood was found in a hire car the McCann’s were using. So what? If it was never proven to be Madelines blood it could have happened years ago from any number of different people.
Unfortunatley, this sort of case isn’t rare. What I’m totally surprsied about is the amount of press coverage it has received. As stated, thousands of people go missing each year, including chilren, that go unreported. I’ve dealed with incidents regarding missing people and its heart breaking to see the amounts of missing people there are.
As whether they are involved in some way I’m not sure. They act impervious to pressure and media attention does not seem to phase them. For my two pennies, I would say some serious misleading of justice has occured. Whether that means there hiding something more, or they were just trying to protect themselves from making a mistake who knows.
