Welcome to Blogger’s Battle. The idea is very simple.
We need a couple of new and fresh bloggers to help TC keep up to speed with the internet world.
In the past I decided who would join and who would not. I’ll be honest, I’ve not always made the correct choices. We’ve had people apply that have seemed good for the job, but they let us down by pissing off after only 2-3 weeks or being very very unreliable.
This time I am leaving the choice of new bloggers in your hands. The TC public.
It is up to the candidates that applied to our call for help to impress you (and me) so you will vote for them.
We are starting out with all candidates and every voting round the two with the least amount of votes will drop off.
As in all good democracies I have a final vote if I want to give someone another chance.
I trust you as a TC crowd are sporting enough not to make this an in-crowd contest and give all the contestants a fair chance.
To the bloggers:
The following wannabe TC bloggers (crazyd, Krazy_4_speed, PVT.chicken, tobythebeagle, Thedonn, Esteban27, saberman3000, marekmarek, yewslus_st1r, Putzy, dlfan86, madbadmax, Abikyoukan, thedeftone and clownshoe) applied via our frontpage call for help and they are the only ones that can take part in the contest. Please do not simply join the thread as I will remove those posts if you are not in the list above.
You will be battling each other with words and links. You will write posts just like you would on the front page. Find good, new and fresh links and write about them in a style that is your own and you think will appeal to the TC crowd.
What I am looking for (and you should be too) is an ability to surprise, amaze and amuse. I don’t want to be looking at week old videos ripped from the same site over and over, 2 year old topless shots of Kate Moss or stuff we have already posted on TC in the past.
The rules are pretty easy. For the first round you have until 9pm GMT (check at time that is where you live here, http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/) on Monday to post your stuff. Up to a maximum of 3 posts/blogs per person per round. The amount of links you throw into your post is up to you, but if you been reading TC for a while you’ll know what we are looking for and the kind of style we treasure. Simple is often best.
At 9PM GMT I’ll open a poll post and the readers of TC can vote for and comment on their favorite blogger. The two with the least amount of votes do not progress to the next level. But once again, I have the final say on the matter so I might give you a another shot if I like your style.
The next round always starts 24 hours after the end of the previous round. This is to give everyone in the world a chance to read and vote. The first blogging round lasts slightly longer then 24 hours, but all next rounds will last 24 hours. In short: 24 hours of blogging, 24 hours of voting, 24 hours of blogging, 24 hours of voting.
What can you blog?
You can blog about links, videos, photos and whatever else you like. You can embed youtube or google video in your blog on the forum and you can attach photos.
I don’t want to see any real NSFW stuff or spam and if I do you’ll get one warning.
I ask the TC crowd not to interfere in the Bloggers Battle Round x threads and not comment in those. If you want to say something about a blogger taking part do it in this main thread or the voting threads.
Bloggers, give your best and you will be rewarded.
