Have you tried starting in ‘Safe Mode’ and run ‘virus scan’ or ‘system restore’..?

you could either put in a windows installation cd in and tell your computer to boot from the cd drive and either re install windows or possibly repair it.  If that does not work then you are looking at purchasing a new HDD to replace the one that just got fried and then you will have to install windows again.  Then again if you are running a dinosaur then you might look into building your own new computer or buy a cheap old piece of preloaded shit from best buy or comp usa. If you are a Brit then i dont know where you would buy a new pc

Hi mate just so happens I can help you.

Go to http://www.sophos.com

Then search for the name they will give you a download for a program called sav32cli
then download the relavent ide’s and burn them to disc,
start the PC as though you want to start it in Safe mode, but choose command prompt.

Browse to the cd and run the program.

It may take a whit but it should work.

All the instructions are on the site aswell.

incase you dont know Sophos is a major anti virus program alot of industry use. I install it all the time for customers and I must admit it is pretty good.

If you need anymore help PM me I will try

You should be able to boot up the XP disc from the BIOS and ‘repair’...rather than re-install...everything stays the same and you dont lose anything…

Detailed instructions on how to do it is on Google…
