Don’t forget…

Update your Anti-Virus

Update your Spybot (search and destroy)

Update Spyware Blaster..

Update ZoneAlarm…

If you havent got the last three items running...you should have…

They are all ‘Freeware’ that offers ‘real-time’ protection against maleware and spyware, dodgy ‘incomings and outgoings’ from your PC...as in they protect you when you are actually surfing the web...and they fuckin’ work well…

Im not really down with all this internet protection malarky. I have vista and my windows firewall is on. And I use the free edition AVG software which updates pretty much everyday. Had my laptop for a good 6 months now and its still in perfect working order. Is there something missing that i dont have but need?

Ok…

Windows standard firewall lets anything and practically every piece of software to send back what it wants…

AVG free is excellent...better than some ‘paid for’ AV software...The free version beat a shitload of ‘paid for’ AV in independant tests…

Spybot and SpywareBlaster offer ‘real time’ protection against maleware and spyware being downloaded…

ZoneAlarm lets you know when ANY piece of software is trying to connect to the web for any reason…

With ZoneAlarm..You decide what connects and what has no reason to connect...It asks you with a pop-up..You decide ‘Yes’ or ‘No’

Shh_Hector…

Are you definitely running the free version of AVG…

Because a firewall and a AV are two different things…

Only the ‘paid for’ Pro version of AVG comes with a firewall..

Then you need to keep AVG because it is very, very good…

And then check out ZoneAlarm free version on Google…

If you decide that you would prefer ZoneAlarm firewall...You will have to switch off your Windows firewall…

You cannot run both together as it will cause problems.

I believe ZoneAlarm gives you better control...and you will suddenly see how many programs that you have on your PC, that want to connect to the web and send back information...for no real reason.

Read about ZoneAlarm Free on the web...and decide...I use ZoneAlarm Pro which comes with a load of extras…

You may also like to look at ‘System Mechanic’...(which is ‘paid for’ software) but it has a load of shit you can use everyday...including an excellent right-click shredder..Totally trustworthy software..but you gotta pay for it...But it is also very good…

Dont forget...check out ZoneAlarm free version...one of the leaders in PC firewall protection…

I used ZoneAlarm for years with no problems but recently changed to Comodo Firewall. It’s free too, but got a slightly better write up. It’s much nicer to use (my opinion) than ZoneAlarm. What can i say, i’m a glory hunter! LOL

Teatimer is great for people who are not exactly sure whats going on, just because it limits what changes on the registry, by having to ok it everytime.
