I’m a little puzzled by the blurb:

Flashblock is an extension for the Mozilla, Firefox, and Netscape browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.

Do you have to enable the flash video content manually once this is installed?

Cheers,
SD

sorry it was a bit hastily put together. it does block all flash boxes then gives you the option to click in order to display them. since im no tech head im not sure why but it seems that by opening the flash video manually rather than allowing it to auto load it plays back perfectly smooth. i have been trying it all day and so far not a single video has stalled. you can just get it from the extensions tab and search it. and on the plus side it block those annoying flash ads that shout at you, which can only be a good thing

quite a lot of people, myself included were experiencing stalls and loss of sound in video playback on the site and even links to external sites. it seems (at least for me) that flashblock has sorted it. all it does is stop flash based thingies from auto loading so you can just click to see the ones you want. dead simple, no fuss.

This will fix things as well.

Use regedit, and find the following key.

My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

And then on the right pane, right click and click on New, select String value, enter “wavemapper” (without quotes of course), ENTER, type “msacm32.drv”, ENTER.

Close regedit. Restart Firefox, and the sound and video on Youtube, Totallycrap, and the like, should all work fine now.

That sounds very interesting. But “My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32” does not exist on my computer.

Are you saying I should just paste that into the address bar in ‘My Computer’? If so, does not exist. Do you have windows NT? That would explain it. I have XP.

The videos not playing is driving me fucking nuts!

Firefox 3 has done fuck all. Its exaclty the same as the old one.

I have no sound on the TC player & it plays for a couple seconds then stops.

Ive been putting up with this shit for close to a year now. Its just fucken stupid!!!!

I cant even watch them on IE7 either! It just keeps loading & never gets to playing.

How can Willy say that its not his TC player with the problem, when every other fucking video plays in firefox perfectly accept the fucking TC player!!???

Ive done everything that everyone has said & nothing has changed.

no .. read it again, open regedit (click start click run type regedit) - now follow it to the right bit.

Yes but it is still strange that you need this block add on to fix it.

It’d be nice if the videos just worked with out all flash getting blocked in FF, then having to click on the flash button to view it.

It should just work with out blocking it............. But it doesnt look like that will ever work. If I want the videos to work, I’ll just have to put up with this block add on.
