Don’t worry too much, DB.

I can stay sober for months and then realise what an enormous cunt I am.

Time for a Bloody Mary…

Back on topic, the best pet I ever had was an African Grey parrot. They’re amazingly intelligent birds as well as being superb mimics and surprisingly affectionate. They also live for seventy years or more, so you’ve got a friend for life.

The downside is that they’re expensive to buy, destructive (those beaks are razor sharp), messy and need a lot of attention to stay healthy. They can also talk a bit too much at times. Mine used to drive me crackers repeating the time signal from the radio.

Still, they’re great fun to have around and don’t cost much to feed. I wept when my mother allowed mine to escape.

Camel…

African Greys are known for their flying back to their cages…

I knew someone who used to let her parrot loose and it just used to fly around for a couple of hours…and then return home to its cage…it’s still doing it.

You should have put the cage outside for a few days with its food…it should have come back.

Thanks DB, but I tried that (this was years ago anyway, look at my jumper and the curtains). Trouble is, there are trees for miles around where my Mum lives, he probably thought he was in parrot heaven.

A Sony Trinitron, our first colour TV. State of the art back in the day, it must have been twenty-five years old when that picture was taken.  cheese
