13 year old car, (renault clio diesel 1.9) went in for a check up, the mechanic, politely said dont bother just scrap it. so i am holiday for a week and need a new car sharpish, i wanted something little with a bit of poke so i thought saxo or corsa or 106. But hey i live in cornwall and those types of car are hard to come by in good nick (not boy racer ragged to fuckery). But i found one 1.6 saxo vtr cost me 2 fucking grand! and my insurance is now £700.00+. not to mention the fuel, thats my savings wiped. Just wanted a moan.

I know two guys who drive up North every week,buy a car here and drive them both down. They make a living doing it.

2k seemed to be the average asking price for that model and that rough age. im not pissed at the price, but the fact that i needed a new car, was hoping the old one might have survived another 12 months.

Yeah, I know a guy who rides a few motorbikes from here to norway, he makes about £3000 on each bike. Not bad for a “road trip”.
