The director of Liberty, Shami Chakrabarti, said it was a “medieval” scheme. “When someone has lost their self-respect and committed crime, the last thing to do is degrade them further,” she said. “We hope that no-one is harmed as a result of this medieval justice - it’s cheap and nasty, not the sort of thing we want in a civilised country.”
Ahhh, poor criminals. They only turned to crime because they’ve lost their self respect….BULLSHIT. I say stigmatize them, maybe once they’ve finished their community service they’ll think twice the next time they’re tempted to either try and make some easy money via crime, be an antisocial cunt or drink and drive etc etc….
nope. getting between 30 and 100 hours to do and only actully doing 2 of that, but probation officer signs theyve done it all coz he cant be arsed either. and the couple of hours work is to paint that flats of a private landlord so he can charge higher rents

Every six months or so, i telephone the Probation/Community service people…i convince them that cleaning out the pool at the end of the river outside my house, is a good thing…
They organise a skip…the boys jump in and clean the shit out…
I have a few cans of Lynx…and then get out there and take the piss…
Some of the best laughs with those boys…they decided to cut down a massive dead tree without power tools…and when it fell, the rope pulled us all into the river…
I went down the shop and bought them all Mars bars and crisps..
