Tomorrow is the start of the smoking ban in england.

I thought this would be a good thing because i hate coming home from a night out stinking of fags (not men humper.. lol).  But the past few weeks iv had to install smoking area’s, which now means i cant go outside with my pint because this is where the smokers will congregate.

Just wondering what the other crappers think of this.

well i never came home smelling of fags but i do kinda agree with the ban

I smoked 30 a day until 6 years ago, stopped completely for 2 years but now have the odd one or two when I’ve got a drink in my hand.

Was watching a bit of a debate the other day and I must admit the anti-ban smokers were making no sense at all. They were talking about their civil liberties being violated whereas I think it’s the non-smokers civil liberties that are being violated when they’re forced to breathe other peoples smoke.

I do support smoking bans in enclosed public spaces. The thing is that when you enjoy your smoke others are forced to join you. When your are having a pint you don’t spit half of it out on the person next to you.

weve had the smoking ban here in texas (the usa!) for some time now and its pretty weak but it makes people feel better id rather have a cell phone ban cause there are so may wrecks in this area from people on their fucking cell phones all the damn time, but yea the 1st few weeks of the smoking ban everyone will be in protest then it will be forgotten

My wife is asthmatic and when ever we go to the pub we have to leave three or four hours later because she cant breathe…

I think it the best thing to happen to pubs in the last 100 years…

Well not having to go outside to piss was a pretty great invention…

We’ve had the ban here for a good while and its pretty fantastic… Though for the first while all you can smell are the toilets.

yea I agree with the smoking ban although a lot of places are still trying to get round it I read that one was trying to become a foreign embassy for a small island somewhere. I dont think any pubs will get round it though as its the bar staff whos rights are being breached.

I think the ban is a total disgrace.

If the namby-pamby non-smokers don’t like the smell of smoke in a pub, it should be them that are made to go and stand outside!!

How about don’t even go to the pub.

Just stay indoors with half a dozen beers and smokes..

We have the ban here in Western Australia. No Smoking in an indoor public place. Pubs, nighclubs, shopping center, ect. I guess this is the same as yours?

I do agree with it BUT, one thing I dont like is our one & only nightclub here (used to be 2 but 1 closed). Im not a big nighty goer but last time I went it fucking stank like body oder.

When smoking was allowed, the nighty smelled like Cigarettes. Its just the way it smelt. The Cigarette smell overpowered all the other stinky smells that you’d expect from a room crammed full of sweaty people & It was tolerable.

But now that the Cigarette smell has gone, IT JUST FUCKING REEKS!!!!!!

I walked in there, threw up, then walked out & went home.

We do alot of work in the Night clubs around our area, and in the morning after a night out you would be surprised how little smoke you can smell.  I hate smoking, i dont find smokers attractive either.  Im just thinking that when your in the beer garden in summer were gonna be rammed with smokers.  Also.. the smell of stale ale thats been spilt and sick around the place aint gonna be too pleasant!

Im for the smoking ban, ive worked in pubs and used to get fucked right off going home smelling of stale beer and fags..............

Thats whats happening here - Pub sales are down 7%!!!!!!!!! Profits are still up though cos a pint is like 5.50 now.

The Nanny State has gone mad. Alright, the majority of people don’t smoke but around 30% still choose to. That 30% pay extortionate amounts of tax to the government for their legal habit (well, they do if they don’t know a smuggler), yet cannot belong to a private members club where everyone, including the bar staff and management, who are there voluntarily, smokes anyway.

That’s fucking ridiculous.
