Cant really add much to this, i got my dad close by, still about, still going strong, always watch the sport with him, few beers in, tube of pringles, wether its rugby, footy, boxing, cricket, whatever, if its sport we never miss.......i tell you what man, when its his time to go i dont think ill be able to watch the sport in the same way, it will be hard, of that i have no doubt!!

Im sure we will all meet up again with our dads, and mothers at some point!!

So my mom died when i was six, twenty two years ago and it was mainly me and my dad til my sister moved back in when i was about 13. Never really got on with the old man, (as most kids don’t) until i left school. All of a sudden i could do what ever the fuck i wanted: stay out all night, come back in all sorts of fucking states, bring back dirty’s and keep em locked up in my bedroom all weekend. The ss soon as i started working i was the fucking golden child.

By the time i moved out at 19 i can’t say i was particularly close to him, but we go on well. Never really did stuff together, but that was as he was always working.

Now i probably only see him once every couple of months for half an hour or so. Or when i need to borrow his lawn mower.

I’d fucking miss the old cunt if he wasn’t there though.

Are you talking about the Simon Bates ‘Our Tune’ stories Dev? They used to be on when I worked at the bakery with my dad...now you’ve set me off again (we need a crying smiley)…

Remember “Our tune"so well. Used to tour the UK a lot and it was always on about 10-ish. Simon Bates was such a schmaltz, we used to laugh and joke about the horrors to come...Given a puppy after death of my favourite uncle, it was run over by a combined harvester, heres “our tune” ="Dance Yourself Dizzy!"…
