Long story Short

thanks teddy,

if it was for me itd be no probs but she’s a bit set in her ways, and even if i got her to use it the 90 day trial doesn’t leave a lot of wiggle room in case it gets delayed

thanks hun

I like you baileyk….

you views intrigue me and i’d like to send you my newsletter… and a nifty armband to wear that reads…

‘google macht frei’

but seriously, works is so hideously outdated and underused….but their whole organisation uses it…

maybe its just not out there, swamped by office and the like

Teddy, have you ever tried to use StarOffice? The last company I worked for was bought by Sun Microsystems who tried to force us to use that utter piece of crap. I was told to write a script to force the StarOffice download to every PC in Canada and a month later to write another script to remove MS Office.

I did the first part just as instructed - I wrote a script that pushed the program out to every PC in Canada. They didn’t tell me it had to be installed so I didn’t install it. wink

Never got around to the second part - they eliminated my position before the month was up so everybody still has MS Office installed and working.

How about OpenOffice?  It’s… similar to StarOffice, and there’s no cost at all, right?

I dunno… been awhile since I dabbled in Windows alternatives…

I’ll second that! OpenOffice is fab!

In fact, my Dad wanted MS Office and went to find prices. I showed him OpenOffice and he thought it was MS Office. I swear, i don’t know how they get away with it but you’d have a tough job figuring out which one is which at first glance.
