Well i have a PS3 and would have to say that it is the machine to have. I use the Blu Ray DVD, i sometimes use it to surf the net(when the wife is on the PC) and Gran Turismo HD is coming out this year and having seen the previews of it, i would buy a PS3 just for that game alone! Plus it looks better than an Xbox 360. But if the Wii was an option, i would go for it cause its better when mates are round.

my mates got both, i had to go for the PS3, because…better quality build, blu-ray built in which will be the industry standard, online gaming is free, there is the rumble controller as well as the six-axis pish… also you can slip in the digital camera cards into it. the game library isnt particularly huge at the moment, but it will get bigger.

My partner has a 360 and I love it. We’ve never had an problems with it and the games are terrific. The only thing is it that some games require you to have a decent TV - something that we can’t afford right now. But that shouldn’t be a problem for you.

I just got a 360 pro for xmas.

I love it, it has hdmi connection and seems cool.

I have a ps2 and ps one. and if I wanted the ps3 to play ps2 games I would need to get the 60gb as it is the only backwards compatible one available now.

I didnt get any games with my 360 but have rented a few and bought Tenchu Z and Mass Effect. I thought about a couple others but am waiting.

I wanted a ps3 so I could go blue ray. but now there are blueray players for under 300.

if I could do it over again, I would get a 360 still as it would save me 150 bucks. my 360 cost me 350 minus my coupons and reward zones from best buy, It ran me 300. a PS3 would cost me 450 after same discounts.

I dont have any friends with either so its all money.

Granted now that paramount is rumored to be dropping HD in favor of blue ray I might lean to ps3. as most movies are now covered under blueray.

Good luck and I have about 10 days to change my mind before its to late to return the 360.

I own both consoles, 360 has alot of games yes, but most of which are out on the PC, PS3 has blu ray which i use alot and play games, they both offer some good games and ps3’s upcomming releases are far better than what xbox has comming out this year, 2007 was xbox big year.  Shooters=360 more innovative unique and wider variety of games =PS3 do some research on the games that are already out and soon to come out and make ur own decision. http://www.ign.com,,,,the games i currently have

XBOX360- Forza 2, marvel alliance both which came with my xbox, and mass effect which if you like rpgs is so far one hell of a game, and looks great too if you have a high def tv
PS3-Warhawk,Assasins creed,resistance fall of man, The Eye of Judgment(playstation eye and a card game, really neat), motorstorm, and Uncharted Drakes fortune which is also a pretty game and rather cinematic

I have a PS3 and Assassins Creed is the shit.  I just got Rock Band and Guitar Hero 3 also.  Those are fun with friends…hell been playing the drums on Rock Band all damn day.  I can’t wait for the next Gran Turismo.  Playstation Store could use some help, and Playstation Home should be interesting when it actually comes out.  I have played some 360 too.  Sucks that you have to pay to play online….fucking Microsoft.  But they both have their perks…..except for the fact that the PS3 has Blue Ray without having to buy another external device.  You can install other Operating Systems on the PS3, like Yellowdog Linux.  Divx support coming soon.  Streaming media from Vista or Media Center PCs.  Killer graphics….ok, so I like the PS3.  Hackable to upgrade the hard drive space…customizable themes.
High Def TV is a must.  You don’t get the full effect if you don’t have one.  I didn’t realize the different until I saw the same movie in standard dvd and then on Blue Ray.  Simply amazing.  PS3 has HDMI, but if you don’t have a TV with HDMI, you can get an HDMI to DVI cable that works just as well. 
Converting movies to be compatible to play has been kind of a pain, but with Divx support coming, that should be a little more convenient now.  Transferring files to the hard drive (movies, music, pictures) is great. 

But that is just my opinion.

I just got a PS3 last week. I was tossing up between the 360 and Playstation for ages too and decided the PS3 was better cuz of the HD and Blueray shit.

Ive got a Wii & wouldnt get anything else cause most of the good games the come out on either the 360 or PS3, come out on PC too! So I’d just get the PC version instead. I much prefer a keyboard or over a controller any day. Controllers are like eating soup with a fork, PC’s are the shit!

But Nintendo games only come out on Nintendo. & I love em. Super Mario Galaxy is fucken Sweet!

BUT, if I WAS going to get one or the either, I would go the Xbox 360, mainly because the controller is very good.

The PS3 controller SUX DOGS BALLS!! Its Fucked! Was designed like 15 years ago, very out dated & you have to bend your hands in the wrong direction to reach all the buttons. I get cramps using it. Very bad ergonomics.

Plus its not as if the Xbox is shit. Its fucking ausome. Its just the PS3 is a little better, The PS3 controller lets it down, So go the Xbox
