The photos tend to suggest that the baby wasn’t abandoned in the UK with it’s policy of throwing money at single mums. Can you really blame a mother who abandons her child because she experiences real poverty ? Life isn’t so cushy in many countries.
The taxpayer. The bottom line in the UK is that if you have a kid then you are better off on benefits than taking a paid job at the lower end of the pay scale. The government that we have is obsessed with ending so-called “child poverty” which is a relative concept rather than an absolute one. It has paid billions of taxpayers’ money over in various child benefits, working family tax credits etc.

child benefit is non means tested, even gordon brown gets it. No such thing as working family tax credit. Family credits is no more and tax credits is available to all low paid, not just us single mums

yes, because they can work evenings, weekends and bank holidays because they dont have to find childcare. All the shops want staff who can do flexible hours
aloha i work for the government in the benefit area. Job seekers allowance is 59.15 maximum regardless of who you are. teddy right about the child tax credits. and your entitled to working tax if you work and have kids or are single over 25 and earn below 15,000.
