The “about the project” link says that they paid people 1 cent to use a computer drawing program to draw a tiny section of a hundred dollar bill, without telling them what they were drawing or why. They recorded each drawing process, then put the pictures together into the mosaic that you see and made it so that when you click on any given square, you see the original and how the person drew it. I think it’s cool, if a bit silly.

well it is pretty cool, really

so they spent $1000 on that. would have been cheaper to buy a scanner and just scan the bill

er… 10,000 cents is actually 100$, really.

so it is, i should have written it down first and then worked it out

still, they could have scanned it at the library for 10 cents or something
