It’s perfectly acceptable to
blog about images from various sources, so long as you link back to the original source and give credit to the photographer. You, however, went out of your way to remove the credits from the image and watermark the images with your brand.

I agree with the other commenters. This is content stealing at its worst.

Here at Totally Crap we like to live up to our name sometimes in non-ironic ways. Yes, this sucks. We should be ashamed. But it appears we aren’t and will not correct our horrible behavior.

thanks for assembling this (if you actually did), but stamping your logo on someone else’s work is shameful.

so, photographers sleep under 4 hours a night for over two weeks and you simply post the results of their efforts on your site without giving them any credit and placing your logo on the photos. you should be really proud. photos have authors. you did not author anything, just are trying to use other’s work as your content. what a loser, i am disgusted by this.

all of a sudden all these negative comments while we’ve been doing this for 3 years.

Listen fuckwits. The photographer credits are NOT in the pictures on the German site listed above. They are actually in a seperate field underneath the picture. This means I did NOT cut out the credits. They were never in there.
The only reason the watermark is in there is to stop people from leeching/hotlinking these pictures and burning up our bandwidth.

If you’ve been a visitor to TC for a while you’ll know we give credit were credit is due. And we appreciate great photography (which this is).
Now if someone would like to provide me with the picutures in these galleries with the photographers credits included, be my fucking guest. Otherwise STFU and enjoy them. Like I know you did.

Ken, the photographer credits aren’t part of the actual images, it’s a separate gray bar on the bottom.  You can see it’s loaded in before the images are.

And, even if they were part of the actual images, if they were all in the same place, on the bottom as a fixed size gray bar, then a Photoshop action could be written to batch crop it out of the images.  Would probably take a minute or two to write the action and then you run the batch, which would take less than a minute (depending on number of photos and CPU speed) to crop them all.

The lesson here, Ken, is it’s usually best to know what you’re talking about before you post something negative on the internet that makes you look like a fool.

You say that TC gives credit were credit is due but i see no link or acknowledgment of the site these images came from and putting your watermark onto them is pretty disgraceful. You say it is to keep people from downloading the image, but I’m sorry your logo would take about 2 seconds to stamp out in PS if someone wanted too.

Just put a link to the original site with photographers credit and be done with it.
