Except for the color there’s nothing ferrari like left.

if I was a girl I wouldn’t mind, but yes, the color red is the only thing that reminds a decent ferrari

first thing that comes to mind:

OUTRUN :-D

Well done on the outrun reference. That’s exactly the car theywere recreating. It’s not really a roadster, it’s got a glass and metal folding roof.

This isnt the best looking car in the world but you know it will sell thousands to celebrities and wannabe celebs.

The car they were recreating?  Are you stupid?  The Outrun vehicle was a Testarossa.  So are you saying that Ferrari was trying to recreate the Testarossa with the new California?

Remember, this car actually has a electrically folding METAL roof, so we probably won’t really know how the car looks until we see it with its roof up (I think most drop-top cars look the same with the roof down - like roller-skates…). But a folding metal roof! How cool is that. It should be able to have a better defined shape than a fabric roof. Also, the car is designed to be somewhat of a retro homage to this:

I think it succeeds; similar bonnet bulge and headlights, similar curve leading to the rear wheel arch etc.

Looks nothing like a decent Ferrari. Kinda reminds me of a BMW Z4 or one of those other Z-models. Spit ugly.

Whoever said it looks like a Porsche is bob on.  Definitely a little “german” looking.

****IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE A FUCKING LEXUS SC08 WTF**** And it looks little to a BMW z4 also but in the end I think Simester is right….

I meant LEXUS SC 2008 or whatever…

Who cares…  I can’t afford one no matter what it looks like or pretends to be

@simester
Most drop tops have a metal folding roof nowadays. Nothing new in it and Mercedes have been doing it for years.
Fuck, even a cheap ass Peugeot 207 has it.
Ferrari are going for the money with this one and it could cost them dearly.

@Willy
I can’t think of any true supercar that has a folding metal roof. Astons, Lambos, Ferraris all have cloth roofs which, basically, look awful; like a tent stuck on a normally great-looking car. Even the Pagani Zonda Roadster has a cheap looking roof. Because metal holds form better, this Ferrari could be the first convertible supercar to actually look as good with the roof up as down.
You’re right, Ferrari are going for the money on this one (it price puts it between the F430 and the 599) and it will sell by the bucket-load. As Car magazine puts it: “this first glimpse makes me think it will go down as one of the significant Ferraris, if not the most beautiful”

The father of my brother in law, ordered it at the Ferrari store in Amsterdam, 2 months ago. It will be delivered at the beginning of January 2010. You only get an invitation to buy it when you already have more ferrari’s.

Forgot to mention: Ordered without seeing it. because there weren’t any specs. and pictures yet.
