Often when people mention skateboarding, everyone thinks Tony Hawk. Indeed he is an excellent skater, but this guy Rodney Mullen was the man who invented the “Ollie” as well as many other well known flatland tricks that kids break bones to today. Rodders has a unique skating ability and an exceptional choice in leg wear, The footage was shot in Japan the early 80’s, so we’ll let him get away with his trendy skating attire.

That’s definitely a sick vid. Just a note to the editors. Mullen did invent a lot of tricks but the Ollie wasn’t one of them. Alan “Ollie” Gefland invented it in 1976. But Mullen can still put it down better than anyone I’ve ever seen.
