Damn, this is just embarrassing! However, I imagine that this rally was not intended to become an open mic night. The gentleman was obviously intending to make a scene...he even refers to the event as a “protest” at one point in the video. If he had quietly stepped down from the mic and gone his marry way, none of this dramatic and uncalled for bullshit would have been necessary. I think that the guy had some interesting talking points and questions. It was just not the time or place, and it was a little rude to assume that he could usurp the event for his own political agenda. Jesus, fuck…look at me being all conservative and shit!

WHAT THE FFF!!! i go to UF and this was amazing...just after this they had email EVERYwhere to every student on there email server talking about how they do not approve this “action and go into talking about student saftey yet millions of church preist campagin and shout homesexuals and condemn them publicly” sigh...that MAN made a decent arguement and then was actually on fair grounds for a question. I see that this video has evoked alot of emotional response from alot of crappers.  Very rightly so, as any time we see another man being treated wrongly, his rights violated, his being reminded to fall back in line and quietly go back to doing as he is told...it fires the flames of outrage and passion for those that see it.  Resisting Arrest is a sinister charge that the American System is allowed to make in any case, as it allows them to supersede any other charge that may not stick.  You need to have faith in a fair legal agenda to believe you would turn yourself over to authority without a fight.  Whether the man being arrested is a smarmy whiny liberal or a patriot is irrelevant.  The importance of the video is that it documents 2 things. First: it demonstrates the increased presence of a policed American state where we live under the impression of freedom and basic human rights when in fact we live in a system of allowance and privilege(the system dictates what we are allowed to do and what privileges it will afford us). Secondly: the video represents that we are ever closer to a time great rebellion.  Despite the follies of our ability to organize and manage our government, it has always been the most basic American quality to stand up for one self, to not lie down or go quietly into the night.  The 2 basic defense mechanisms of every human is fight or flee...flee was demonstrated by all of those that came to the US to avoid persecution and oppression in their home lands.  Now that there is nowhere to flee to anymore (Canada, Mexico?!?), it is time we use video clips like this to remind us of when it is time to fight the PERSECUTION of our OPPRESSIVE system.  It would be a great shame to forget the lessons of the upstart 13 colonies that stood up and rebelled to make their own government system, only to allow that system to become even more tyrannical and corrupt.  If we continue to lie down, perhaps we should have never picked that fight at the Boston tea party.

I hate cops but I feel sorry for them for being under so much scrutiny when it comes to doing their job.  Sure, many of them like the power trip, but just look what they have to do?  Why didn’t he just leave when they asked him to?  One thing I have learned in my life is that you never win when you fight with the cops.
