The Future Of Modern Warfare

Another day, another post about the US army. But today, were not getting on the impromptu gay disco wagon. No today, we have the future of modern warfare and it’s big-ass robots. Well, i say big-ass, more like an uncomfortable, over balanced exoskeleton, that has a tail of wires and needs to be supported from above at all times. Still, it’s a start and with a bit of luck we will all soon have our own mobile-suit suit to go to the shops in. And i for one am already saving up for it. (Via the Forum)

Rants & Raves & Flames & Trolls on The Future Of Modern Warfare

Okay, for once the Americans have invented something quite spectacular. But i just can’t see it being used in battle. It’s too cumbersome. I would imagine it being used more in loading etc.

If it’s integrated like the proto-harnesses, it could work.

Fascinating...if the Military Industrial complex of the US are allowing technology like this to be seen by the hoi polloi and the USA’s enemies, just imagine what they’re hiding...wink

That was awesome, its really cool to be able to see the stuff that was not so long ago true Sci-Fi, to now have it so close at hand.

The exoskeleton would not be practical in combat, since modern warfare is not about the soldier being strong (not even in close quarter combat).

But the military still needs this kind of exoskeleton in supporting our troops. I can think of dozens of applications, especially in the avionics for when loading missiles / equipment to fighter planes.
In wartimes with multiple misssions, the loaders work around the clock to resupply and fix the fighters and bombers. This would seriously increase efficiency and safety.

But this exoskeleton for ground troops? Hardly. I’d rather put the money on real-time tactical head-up displays for the individual soldier than this.  You increase the strength of an individual soldier or you increase the whole platoon with tactical data. Anyone who’s seen real combat would want the data!

Rant, rant and rant. Ok, I’m out of breath now to rant more…

Also they should work on genetically engineering soldiers like in Halo.

This technology is not for regular soldiers i agree with lysozymes, but heavy support soldiers, with high power guns like a 0.50 caliber gunmachine can be mounted on one arm, + some sort of shielding can be a new kind of weapon, like the time when the modern mechanized cavalry apeared.... dunno someone just seen the thousands possibilities in all the sci-fi movies games books and all that stuff have told us the uses of this????

I WANT MINE LIKE THE MARINES IN STARCRAFT ^_^
