Divx Connected Codename “GejBox”
This Just in! We were emailed some very exclusive photos so exclusive that no one else has them! They are of a very classified gadget, so classified that you have to sign a disclosure agreement just to get you hands on it! We were told that only about 100 of these Beta devices exist. This is what they say about it, its a “Apple TV” like device named GejBox but now known as Divx Connected. It has access to Stage6 (Streaming Movies in HQ) access to Google Video and ShoutCast (internet radio) from the comfort of your chair with capabilities to play the movies from any of your PCs along with music and any pictures that you might have, by streaming it from the PC to either the Ethernet port or Wifi! It can’t be all tits and ass you now, it starts to get boring after a while.
What’s the point in having this gadget when you can connect your PC to your TV and create an internet enabled media-center ? Similar things already exist in the form of the Kiss DP-600 which also upscales DVDs.
no idea whackaday. it seems divx is trying to get a piece of the apple tv action.
they all talk about freedom of choice and that wireless makes you free to use your content where and whenever you want, but in truth you can’t use any of these systems with one another. iTunes only works with apple products, does not seem very free to me.
DivX developing hardware? That must have passed me by…To anyone who doesn’t know, DivX is basically the MP3 of the video world. It offers 6 to 1 compression of mpeg2 video without much loss in quality. DivX is a pretty good answer to that data hog MPEG2 (what DVDs are encoded in), so streaming stuff wirelessly and smoothly on your home network should no longer be a problem.
