Well, as good as. The man has been sick for ages and has now decided to step down as president/leader/fuhrer of Cuba. Fidel Castro is a man that you either hate, love or don’t give a shit about. He has shaped part of todays world with his communist ideals in Cuba, but the power he once had has long gone away. The democratic West has found new enemies to fight. His death will probably result in one final stand-off between socialists (who will praise him) and capitalists (who will tell us an evil oppressor has finally gone) and Fidel would love nothing less. He told me so in a phone call we had this morning. While he was still alive. May we be the first to offer our condolences to the people of Cuba that loved him and offer our congratulations to the people of Florida that can now finally get back to their country of birth.
