ooooooh, fuck me that is horrendous. i was watching the match but i can see now why they didn’t show the replay, they didn’t let on it was nearly as bad as that. i’m a villa fan and i remember that luc nilis leg break. that was another shame cos the guy only played 3 games for us and was fantastic in each scoring an awesome goal against chelsea in the process. but nilis was in his 30s when that happened, poor eduardo is only 24. i reckon the severity of the break looks almost worse than nilis’ as u can see the bone poking through the sock. all the best for the guy and i’m sure everybody hopes that it isn’t the end for his career as he is a brilliant player.

Shit happens.  The same sort of injury happend to Kieron Dyer earlier in the year in the early rounds of the cup and there was considerably more malice than this one.  Here he’s “high” but only because Eduardo puts his ankle in the way.  Not Eduardo’s fault, just a risk of the game.  Anyways - hope he comes back, but wouldn’t hold anything against Taylor because it’s not like the bloke is some bonafide psycho or anything.

It’s a risk football players are well aware of and it was clearly unintentional. All we can hope for is a full recovery by the young player, although from the severity of the break it would appear he may never play professional football again.
