man that fight was crap.  it was as fixed as fixed gets.  first off kimbo tapped twice in the first round cause of the choke.  watch him when he is in it and he taps on the guys elbow twice.

he gets elbows on his head for a minutes straight it seemed and no stoppage.  he was not defending and yeah not was being done damage wise but still no defense for a minute = stoppage

third the actual stoppage was a joke.  the gears cabbage patch ear broke open and sure he was a lil dazed but still on his feet and good to go.  terrible stoppage.  joke of a fight.

I watched it last night and I gotta say, I thought they were protecting Kimbo hard. Like cjs said, he was getting brutalized there for a while and there was no ref stoppage. Even the crowd was getting upset at it. I think they are trying to protect Kimbo because he is their cash cow, he’s a freak show attraction. He’s a good fighter, when he’s in control, but last night someone showed that he doesn’t have much in the tank past the first round. He’s like Andre the Giant was in the WWF, an attraction. If they put him up against someone REALLY good it’s going to be very ugly…

the whole Elite XC show was pretty mediocre tbh, especially in the aftermath of last weeks UFC 84. The only exception being the Carano vs Young fight (which was also ended due to a bullshit stoppage).

James Thompson beat the shit out of Don Frye a while back. He is a good experienced MMA fighter, not just some patsy. cjs7582, you need a better TV cuz Kimbo was very clearly giving a thumbs up, not tapping. Big Dan has been doing his job for a while and knows what he’s doing. Kimbo did start to gas pretty early though. The most amazing thing to me is Kimbo’s brute strength, keep in mind he gave up 30 lbs to Thompson.
