New 9/11 WTC Footage

Still the most horrifically spectacular footage ever seen.  The last generation had the moon landings, before that D-Day - we get 9/11.

I worked on the 53rd floor of tower 1, and escaped the madness. Many of my friends and co-workers did not…. As I left the building, bodies were dropping out of the sky; people who preferred to choose their own fate. Fire fighters were running UP the stairwell as I was going down. Viewing these videos brings it all back like it was yesterday.

Please, don’t ever forget the horror that was 9/11. It can happen anywhere at any time. That day changed the free world as we knew it.

Don’t talk shit. It changed America cause they thought “oh my god it could happen to me.” They had a hurricane Katrina collection box at work. Made me feel sick. What did they have for the tsunami that caused 350,000 deaths (according to wikipedia), nothing. It was over 7 years ago.

Romulet I believe it was such a big deal / still is a big deal because america was attacked by terrorist rather than mother nature. Although mother nature can hardly be prevented, 9/11 was was an act out of hate. And just two planes killed almost 3,000 people. (I don’t think anyone saw that coming). As far as the tsunami deaths, I’m sure USA has organizations set out to help those in need in those countries.  (Which we did) I remember hearing about donantions at work, schools and grocery stores. I believe Obama will bring change (he can only do so much though) but it will take over 5 years to get us out of the mess we are in now.

So, what have we learned here today?  Tow airplanes hit the WTCs and brought the buildings down.  I checked the footage carefully and didn’t see George Bush, the Tri-Lateral Commission, etc. planting any bombs.  Just terrorists with an agenda making a power play. 

As for FYOU, every country in the world has funded their agendas (including you Brits, French and Dutch with your colonies, Germans,  Russians, any Arabic country with oil cash, China, etc.) so get off your high horses.  You’ll all do it again when it serves you.  It is just human nature and fighting against is a slow, slow battle.

I’m as much against war as anyone but I do know this;  If you don’t fight agression against you, you just encourage the agressors to do it again.  Have you Europeans learned nothing from your recent history?

In the US defence - they sent much more money, and responded far more quickly, to the Tsunami than they did Katrina.  Indeed, they even responded to the Tsunami without all of the “black looters” “white foragers” bullshit.
. As for the relative merits of the US deserving what they got - no, nobody deserves it.  However there was a defining point of irony in that the US had, for a long time, happily funded terrorist organisations around the world.  Many of whom attacked their allies - such as the IRA vs the UK.  The ‘war’ with Ireland cost as many lives as 9/11 did - and over 30+ years. 
. Afghanistan, Al Quaeda, Iraq, Israel, Palestine etc are all after effects of various political shennanigans by those who came before us - that we’re unfortunately paying the price for.  When I see people standing against the ideology of Communism and Socialism (particularly with the attacks on Obama) it makes me laugh to think that you are condemning yourself to repeat the mistakes made previously.
. Much of the worlds ills, and the vast majority of the space race and warfare developments were a direct reaction to the “Cold War”.  A war of ideology that cost millions of lives for no apparent reason - that drove two nations even further to opposite poles, and increasingly damaging tactics on the world stage.
. The Russians got their Chechyen Rebels and such.  The Americans got Al Quaeda.  Sounds “fair” to me.
. By the way - 9/11 only changed the world forever in a US-Centric mindset.  The rest of the world had been dealing with the after effects of US Imperialism (and before that German Imperialism, and British Imperialism, and before that French Imperialism etc) for hundreds of years.
. All 9/11 changed was it turned your nation into an arab hating melting pot of racism and xenophobia racing into another “cold war” against an enemy that has no face, only ideology.
