Of course Steve Irwin’s family wouldn’t appreciate that video, but like Creeper said, the clip was meant to denigrate the masses—us lot included—who have viewed the “footage” due to a warped, sordid sense of curiosity. Steve Irwin was a kind of genius—because he could do things with skill that 99.9999% of the rest of us wouldn’t even dare to attempt. On the other side, as he wrestles with phantom crocs, I’m sure Irwin would give a wry smile and see the “funny” side, perverse as that may sound. It’s gallows humour. The Aussies have it by the bucketload, and so do the English.
