Whilst HIV / AIDS is a devastating disease, it is surprisingly hard to pass on. It is a complex virus, but not a particularly virulent one. According to the World Health Organisation, the chance of a woman becoming infected by an HIV-positive male through unprotected vaginal sex is 1 in 1000. In other words, even if Trashman’s claims are true, he has, in reality, only infected 1 or 2 people. Not nice, but he’s not quite the badass he’s making out to be.

@simey, the 1 in 1000 is the risk through unprotected sex with a random partner (as the chance they have the disease is small). This takes into account the theoretical risk of the partner having the virus. It is not the odds of getting the disease if you have having sex when the guy is HIV positive.

@naughtyteddy, no I am correct; the stats I quote are for unprotected heterosexual sex with a HIV +ve partner. Indeed, I may have been conservative, I’ve just found a study that shows infection in this scenario could be less than 1 in 3000. HIV is very fragile, much more so than the cold and flu virus for example. It is very difficult for the virus to get a route in. This is why the prevalence of HIV infection is almost exclusively centred on needle-sharing drug users and homesexuals (whose sexual practices are more likely to result in tearing / blood exchange). Even here, it is very difficult to get infected; research amongst medics shows that getting pricked by a HIV infected needle leads to infection only 1 in 300 times. Using your example of unprotected sex with a random partner, the latest figures suggest that prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the US is 1 in 300 people. Couple that with the 1 in 3000 transmission probability and the chance of getting HIV from a random encounter are vanishingly small. What?? where do you get this from? 61% of people in subsaharan africa with HIV are women. The biggest rise in the UK in HIV cases is in women

@naughtyteddy. The reason why heterosexual HIV/AIDS is so prevalent in Africa is due to relatively simple factors. Firstly, if the background levels of HIV/AIDS are high, then an epidemiological tipping point is reached.

For example, if, in London, 1 in 1000 people has Asian Bird Flu, there is no epidemic. If 200 in 1000 have it, it’s Bird Flu City Arizona. The ‘herd’ is more likely to be infected.

In Africa, couple this with zero education, zero healthcare, zero access to retroviral drugs, zero contraceptive use, poor nutrition, risky male/female circumcision practices, religious idiocy, political ignorance (in South Africa, the last health minister believed that AIDS could be cured by beetroot), well I won’t go on, you can see the problem.

And, yes, they are at it like rabbits; infant life expectancy is so poor they need a high birthrate just to stand still. There is also a dynamic interaction with TB, prevalent in Africa, which aids HIV transmission.

Also, the stats I quote are for single encounters with a HIV infected person; if you sleep with that person many times (e.g. with a spouse or girlfriend), then the chances of you getting infected are clearly greater.

The fact that the ‘biggest rise’ in UK HIV cases are women is meaningless on its own. For example, if 1 in 200,000 women in the UK have HIV, a 100% increase is only 2 in 200,000 (in other words, with low background levels to begin with, it’s no increase at all). Also, you may not have taken into account (ironically) immigration and asylum seekers from African countries entering the UK, thus artificially inflating the stats.

Put another way, as a heterosexual caucasian male in the UK or the US having heterosexual unprotected sex with caucasian women, the chances of you getting HIV/AIDS are miniscule. You would have a greater chance of winning the lottery.

Ha! Of course, I would never have unprotected sex; like an asteroid impact HIV/AIDS is a low-probability, high-consequence event. I’m also protected by not getting very much sex to begin with… (probably by being slightly obsessed by statistics and academic research…)

@naughtyteddy. I think that, amongst all this statistical and academic guff, my original point may have been lost. I’m not saying that HIV isn’t a problem, of course it is. I’m not saying that heterosexuals don’t get HIV, of course they do. I’m not saying that HIV/AIDS isn’t an issue, of course it is.
The only point I was trying to make is that someone having slept with 1200 people would not have infected 1200 people. It would probably be around 20 people maximum, and that would be mainly within the homosexual encounters.

@simey you are too busy readin research paper you forgot the basic and the common sense.. bear in mind that HIV is not only transmitted by sex…if that dude is evil he could hav drop his blood into someone drink and wala… and even if he managed to infect one person outta the 1200.. the other person would transmit the virus to another person.. its a logarithm scale with no plateau..fuck me this dude better not be real..btw if you happened to see this dude… the girls you been banging they looked really ugly.. its erection killer!

@Soberboy8. Nope, there is no way HIV could be transmitted by blood being dropped in a drink. As I’ve said before, it’s such a delicate virus (far less robust than the cold and flu) that it would be destroyed immediately within the drink. Even if it managed to survive it would be destroyed by saliva, and then stomach acid.
Even if he did manage to infect one person, the progression would not be ‘logarithmic’, transmission rates are very low (as I’ve said before). If it was logarithmic, we would have so many people infected with AIDS in the US and Europe that it would have crippled our health care systems by now.

To all who are still believing in the AIDS scam, and I see everyone on this forum does, see if any of you can prove:

1. HIV exists
2. HIV is pathogenic
3. what is termed AIDS is not self inflicted by acts of anal sex, and street, and pharmaceutical drugs

There is no logical definition for the term AIDS, you can look at it as an umbrella term for 29 old diseases, that are nothing new, and half of those diseases under that umbrella term are not associated with depressed immunity, some of them like Kaposis Sarcoma are associated with overactive immune system.

HIV if it exists (I don’t believe it does) is claimed by the scamsters like Dr. Gallo, Dr. Graves, Dr. Faucci, and others to be a slow acting microbe.  There is no such thing as a slow acting microbe.  A microbe if it’s going to be pathogenic, it must do whatever it’s going to do within days or it will be wiped out by the immune system. 

If you have on of the 29 diseases under the umbrella term AIDS, that’s just a sign of bad health!  If you’re sick examine your life and figure out why you’re sick.  For example if you’re sick because you’re shooting up heroin, or smocking crack cocaine, than stop shooting up heroin, and smocking crack cocaine!

There is no reason for anyone to suffer from debilitating diseases there’s nothing mystical about that.

Further STOP BLAMING YOUR SEX PARTNERS FOR YOUR OWN DAMN HEALTH PROBLEMS!  If you’re sick, figure out why, and stop doing whatever you’re doing to yourself that’s causing you to be sick.
